CATHY JACOBS

I handweave these semi-transparent tapestries on a little handloom. The abstract designs are like drawings made with linen and silk yarns. They come about like stream-of-conscious thought. With a needle, I weave in different colors of linen yarn. One line prompts the next until the design feels complete. I give them names and meanings after they are completed.

During Covid-19 my regular studio was temporarily off limits. These works were easily portable and could be worked on at home away from the studio.
